Westat provides data, information, and knowledge to help focus Federal agency programs on their mission oriented functions. Our concentration in Federal programs allows us to extend our consulting services from developing strategic goals and plans to supporting measurement and business process improvement.

Strategic and Operational Planning

Westat works with executives and managers to perform the following:

  • Identify and describe customers;
  • Determine customer satisfaction, needs, and requirements;
  • Create a core mission/purpose statement;
  • Select issues to achieve the organization’s vision; and
  • Pinpoint strengths and improvement opportunities.

We can also provide an environmental scan of technology developments, marketplace dynamics, politics, societal trends, and other factors that affect strategic planning.

Westat can also develop strategic and annual performance plans with performance measures. We can then translate these documents into guides to inform operational and support functions.

Program Evaluation and Research Design

Westat conducts all types of evaluations to determine whether a program is being implemented as planned and is producing its intended effects.
